6400N Industrial Pallet Strapping Roll

Product Description

Model 1610 heavy-duty PET strapping band is engineered for the most demanding industrial unitizing jobs. With a 16 mm ultra-wide profile and a 1.0 mm thickened body, this polyester (PET) strapping reaches a breaking strength of 6400 N — enough to lock down steel coils, stone slabs, cement pallets and oversized machinery through long ocean freight. As a direct manufacturer, we control the whole process, from virgin PET resin extrusion to final coil winding, which means consistent weld strength, stable elongation and predictable lead times on every order.

1610 heavy-duty PET strapping band 16mm coil on 250mm core

The 1610 coil above is extruded from 100% virgin PET raw material on our own production line. Its uniform embossed surface is functional rather than decorative: it grips the pallet edge and resists slippage in transit, while the wide 16 mm face spreads load pressure evenly across the package.

Key Features
  • Ultra-Wide Load-Bearing Surface: The 16 mm width and 1.0 mm thickness distribute heavy loads over a larger contact area, preventing cargo collapse on stacked pallets.
  • 6400 N Breaking Strength: A high-tensile 1610 profile that outperforms conventional medium-duty straps and keeps super-heavy goods locked down through ocean and overland transport.
  • Corrosion-Free and Surface-Safe: Unlike steel banding, PET never rusts, stains or scratches finished goods, which makes it ideal for galvanized, painted and powder-coated products.
  • High Weld Strength: A weld efficiency of 85% or higher keeps every heat-sealed joint at its rated holding power, even under continuous vibration.
  • Controlled Low Elongation: An 11%–14% elongation range absorbs impact energy and re-tensions automatically as the load settles during transport.
  • Recyclable and Safe to Handle: PET strapping is fully recyclable and free of the sharp edges that cause injury with conventional steel straps.
16mm PET strapping rolls wound on rigid cores for automated strapping lines

Every roll is wound on a rigid 250 mm core and precision-cut to a constant 16 mm width. That consistency matters on automated strapping heads, where a fraction of a millimetre of width variation can jam the feed and stop a whole production line.

Applications

1610 PET strapping is built for heavy industry: steel and aluminium coils, granite and marble slabs, ceramic and cement pallets, aluminium profiles and palletized building materials. It performs reliably across long-distance ocean freight, rail and road transport, where vibration and load settlement constantly challenge conventional straps. For extreme super-heavy loads, step up to our 19 mm profile for an added safety margin.

16mm PET strapping compatible with automated and manual strapping equipment

From automated high-tension strapping heads to manual tensioners and buckles, the 1610 profile fits the full range of standard strapping equipment, so you can standardise on a single band across several packaging lines without re-tooling.

Packaging & Quality Assurance

Every 1610 roll leaves our factory wrapped in thick waterproof film and packed in reinforced export cartons, then stacked on wooden pallets wrapped in stretch film and secured with PET strap for stable loading. Before shipment, each production batch is tensile-tested and dimensionally checked against specification to confirm breaking strength, width and thickness. We welcome third-party inspection and factory audits; our manufacturing process is certified to ISO 9001, and our raw materials are SGS-verified, PFAS-free and halogen-free.

Finished 1610 rolls are consolidated onto export pallets and unitised with the very PET strap we sell — the clearest proof of its holding power under real shipping conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Q: What is the advantage of a 16 mm wide PET strap? A wider strap spreads load pressure across a larger surface area, so heavy pallets stay stable and stacked cargo is far less likely to collapse in transit.
  • Q: How much PET strapping can you supply? Our line produces around 500 tons per month against a minimum order quantity of 5 tons, which keeps bulk and repeat orders on schedule.
  • Q: Can I validate the strap before ordering? Yes. We provide free pre-sales samples and load-scenario matching so you can test 1610 performance on your own pallets and equipment first.
Manufacturer Introduction

We are Suhai PET Strapping, a dedicated PET strapping manufacturer based in Hubei, China, with more than a decade of experience in polyester (PET) strapping extrusion. Our factory runs multiple high-output lines with an installed capacity of around 500 tons per month, and we specialise exclusively in PET strapping rather than spreading our attention across unrelated products. That single-minded focus lets us tune resin blends, extrusion temperatures and stretching ratios specifically for heavy-duty industrial packaging. Our engineers and quality staff work with exporters across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and we serve both end users and trading partners with equal care. Every enquiry is handled by a technical sales contact who understands strapping load calculations, not just order processing.

Production Process

From virgin raw material to finished roll, every 1610 strap passes the same controlled sequence:

  1. Material selection and drying: virgin PET resin is dried to a controlled moisture level so it cannot form bubbles or weak spots later in the strap.
  2. Extrusion: the dried resin is melted and extruded into a continuous flat strap of precise width and thickness.
  3. Longitudinal stretching: the strap is drawn to align its polymer molecules, which builds tensile strength and controls elongation.
  4. Embossing and cooling: an embossed or smooth surface is applied, then the strap is cooled under tension for dimensional stability.
  5. Winding: the finished strap is wound onto a rigid 250 mm core to the ordered roll length and weight.
  6. Inspection and packing: each roll is checked and packed into waterproof film and reinforced export cartons.
Quality Control (QC) Inspection

Quality is verified at several points rather than only at the end of the line, so defects are caught before they become a shipment problem:

  • Incoming material check: every resin batch is verified for purity and melt index before it enters the extruder.
  • In-line monitoring: width and thickness are measured continuously during production to hold the 16 mm ± 0.3 mm and 1.0 mm tolerance.
  • Batch tensile test: breaking strength is tested on every production batch to confirm it reaches the rated 6400 N.
  • Weld strength test: heat-sealed joints are tested to confirm a weld efficiency of ≥85%.
  • Dimensional and appearance check: width, thickness, core size, colour and surface finish are inspected roll by roll.
  • Final sampling and third-party audit: AQL sampling is performed before shipment, and SGS inspection plus factory audits are welcome for any order.

Application Cases

Steel coil export: a European steel coil distributor replaced steel banding with 1610 PET strapping to eliminate rust staining on galvanized coils. Since the switch, more than 40 ocean shipments have been completed with no coil slippage and no surface damage claims.

Granite and marble slabs: a stone producer bundles polished slabs with embossed 1610 strap. The textured surface grips the pallet even when wet or dusty, so heavy slabs stay square and stable through rough overland transport.

Cement and building-material pallets: a palletising plant runs 1610 strap on automated high-tension heads. The consistent 16 mm width feeds without jamming, keeping the line running through long production shifts and cutting strap waste.
