I am the engineer who specifies this grade, and the 1610 is the thickened high-load strap I put forward when a buyer needs stronger bundling force for heavy industrial finished goods, large pallets and bulk cargo — in particular steel coils. It is built 16 mm wide and a full 1.0 mm thick, at a rated 6,400 N break strength and 9%–13% elongation. The engineering intent is not only higher tensile but resistance to the two failure modes that matter on heavy cargo: edge cutting from sharp corners, and sudden impact snap during transport. The extra-thick reinforced body resists the first, while retained elongation absorbs the second instead of failing brittle. For steel coils and heavy pallets, this is the grade I sign off.
A 1610 coil from the line. The full 1.0 mm thickened body carries the higher load rating, while the 16 mm face spreads pressure so heavy cargo is not cut at the strap line.
Key FeaturesWhen a buyer steps up from a medium strap, the two failures I design against are edge cut and impact snap. A thin strap severs where a sharp load edge concentrates stress; a hard, brittle strap snaps under transport shock instead of yielding. The 1610 addresses both: the thickened 1.0 mm body blunts the edge-stress point, and the 9%–13% elongation lets the strap stretch to absorb impact rather than fracture. On steel coils, the strap must also hold a dense, hard-edged mass without working loose over a sea voyage — the anti-loosening tension retention is specified precisely for that. For loads beyond this grade, I would move you to the 19 mm to 25 mm class; for heavy industrial finished goods and large pallets, this is my recommendation.
Every 1610 roll is made on our own line from high-strength virgin PET. Running one recipe at volume is what holds the tensile and thickening inside spec, coil after coil.

For heavy industrial programmes, this is the technical comparison I give buyers:
| Property | PET Strap (1610) | Steel Strap |
|---|---|---|
| Corrosion | Rust-free; no staining of goods | Rusts; can mark and bleed |
| Operator Safety | No sharp edges; no recoil hazard | Sharp edges; high-energy recoil |
| Impact Behaviour | Absorbs shock without breaking | Can kink and lose tension |
| Surface Effect | Wide face resists cutting/denting loads | Narrow edge cuts and dents |
| End-of-life | Recyclable polymer | Scrap metal handling and freight |
Net result: the same heavy-duty holding function with lower freight, lower injury exposure and an intact goods surface.
ApplicationsSpecified for heavy industrial and logistics packaging — steel coils, heavy industrial finished products, large pallets, building material bundles, metal products, bulk cargo and heavy logistics goods. It is a classic extra-strong PET band for operations that have outgrown a medium strap.
Every batch is pulled and measured before release: I confirm the 6,400 N rating, the elongation window and the weld, so the strength on the datasheet is the strength in the coil.
Quality ControlOn heavy loads a strap failure is expensive, so every batch passes the same checks before it ships:
Our qualification file — business registration, enterprise certificates and SGS reports — is available to any buyer who needs to complete a supplier audit before ordering.
Certified Quality and ManufacturerThe documentation behind this grade is auditable. This product is manufactured by Xiangyang Suhai Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., founded February 2011 in Hubei, China, and recognised as a National High-Tech Enterprise (Certificate No. GR202442006492, issued 26 December 2024, valid for three years). The company was selected for Hubei Province's 7th batch of Specialised, Refined, Differentiated and Innovative SMEs. Manufacturing is certified under quality, environmental and occupational health & safety management systems, and products are supported by SGS test reports — the file overseas buyers require for customs clearance, supply-chain audits and end-customer compliance review. Certificate copies and test reports are available on request.
Supply, Customization & LogisticsOur complete PET strapping lines deliver a stable 3,000 tons/month, supporting large-volume and long-term repeat programmes; a 5 ton minimum keeps pricing competitive. Customisation covers colour, surface texture, roll length and weight, and printed logo. Each roll is wrapped in waterproof film and packed in reinforced export cartons with strong compression and drop resistance, then stacked on wooden pallets for container or full-truck shipment. Pre-sales load matching and free sample testing are provided, with in-sales production tracking and after-sales equipment-adaptation and packaging-stability support.
Finished rolls are unitised and loaded for export — dry, protected and ready to run on your line the day they arrive.
