Product Description
Hi, I am the engineer — here is the 30-second answer

I make this strap on our line, and I will keep it simple even if this is your very first pallet roll. This 1609 is a 16 mm wide, 0.9 mm thick PET strapping roll for tying goods onto pallets. Its breaking strength is 5,760 N — in everyday terms, it will not snap until you hang roughly 590 kg of pull on it. It does the job of old steel banding, but it will not rust, has no sharp edges, and works by hand or by machine. Perfect for warehouse storage and long sea shipments of pallets carrying bricks, stone, cartons, metal and glass.

Quick answer — is this the roll for me?

Yes, if you send out pallets and want one strong, safe, rust-free strap that needs no special tools to start with. If your loads are very heavy (steel coils), step up to our 25 mm grade; if they are light, a 12 mm roll will save you money. Not sure? Send me a photo of a loaded pallet and I will point you to the right size.

1609 16mm PET pallet strapping roll for warehouse and export bundling

This is the 1609 roll. It is light enough for one person to carry, yet strong enough to hold a full pallet tight.

01 — What this roll gives you
  • Strong hold: 5,760 N break strength, about 590 kg of pull before it breaks — far more than steel banding usually needs.
  • Stays tight: low elongation keeps the strap snug instead of stretching loose on a long journey.
  • No rust, no marks: plastic never rusts, so it will not leave rusty stains on your goods.
  • Safe for anyone: no sharp edges, so no cuts to your hands when you tighten or cut it.
  • Hand or machine: works with simple hand tools and with semi-automatic machines.

1609 PET pallet strapping roll produced on our own manufacturing line

Every roll is made on our own line from new PET. Running one recipe at volume keeps the strength the same on every roll you get.

03 — Cheat sheet: pick your strap in one line
Your load Roll I recommend Why
Light cartons, small parcels 12 mm / 1206 Plenty strong, saves money
Everyday pallets, warehouse 16 mm / 1609 (this roll) Best balance of strength and price
Heavy pallets, stone, metal 19 mm / 1910 More width, more holding force
Very heavy, steel coils 25 mm / 2510 Maximum strength and load spread

If you are unsure, start with this 16 mm 1609 roll — it is the safest all-round choice for a first order.

04 — How to strap a pallet in 5 steps
  1. Load evenly: stack your goods square and level so the strap pulls straight, not across a corner.
  2. Feed the strap: pass the roll strap around the pallet and load at the height you want the band.
  3. Tension it: pull snug with a hand tensioner or the machine — firm, but not so tight that it dents the goods.
  4. Seal the joint: use a heat-seal tool or buckle so the joint holds at full strength.
  5. Check and cut: press the load to confirm it is solid, then cut the free end clean. Done.
05 — The 3 mistakes I see new buyers make
  • Choosing too narrow a strap for heavy goods: a narrow band concentrates force and can cut or dent the load. Choose width to match the weight.
  • Over-tightening by hand: pulling harder is not better. A firm, even tension holds better and protects the goods.
  • Forgetting the joint: the weld is the weak point on any strap. Always check the seal holds before you ship.
1609 PET strapping strength testing and quality inspection

Before a batch ships, I pull a sample and test it to confirm the 5,760 N strength and the weld — so what you order is what you get.

06 — Quality I control before it reaches you
  • Tensile check: a sample from every batch is pulled to confirm the 5,760 N strength and the 11%–14% stretch.
  • Size check: width, thickness and roll length are measured against the 16 mm / 0.9 mm / 1,060 m spec.
  • Surface check: each roll is checked for a clean, even finish with no rough edges.
  • Weld check: the heat-sealed joint is tested to make sure it holds at full strength.
PET strapping manufacturer qualification and certification documents

Our company certificates and test reports are open for you to check — you do not have to take our word for quality.

07 — Who makes this roll

Everything above comes from a real, auditable factory: Xiangyang Suhai Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., founded in February 2011 in Hubei, China, and recognised as a National High-Tech Enterprise (Certificate No. GR202442006492, issued 26 December 2024, valid for three years). We were selected for Hubei Province's 7th batch of Specialised, Refined, Differentiated and Innovative SMEs. Our manufacturing is certified under quality, environmental and occupational health & safety management systems, and our products are supported by SGS test reports. Certificate copies are available on request for your file.

08 — Buying, customising and shipping

As the factory, we keep it easy. A 5 ton minimum keeps the price fair, and you can customise colour, surface and roll length, or add a printed logo. Our complete lines give a stable output of 3,000 tons per month, so repeat orders stay on schedule. Each roll is wrapped in plastic protective film and stacked on standard wooden pallets for container or full-truck transport, with production starting after deposit and delivery within 5–10 working days. A sample test before a big order is always welcome.

09 — Questions real buyers ask me
Q: What is pallet strapping, in plain words?

It is a strong plastic belt that ties your goods onto a pallet so they do not move in storage or on a truck. This roll is the plastic (PET) kind — it replaces steel banding but without the rust or sharp edges.

Q: How strong is 5,760 N?

It is roughly 590 kg of pull before the strap breaks. For normal warehouse and export pallets, that is more than enough.

Q: Do I need a machine?

No. You can start by hand with a simple tensioner. The same roll also runs on semi-automatic machines, so you can scale up later without changing the strap.

Q: Why PET instead of steel?

Same holding job, but it never rusts, leaves no marks, has no sharp edges and is far lighter and safer to handle — and it is recyclable.
