I am the engineer who specifies this strap, and the 1509 exists to solve a specific procurement problem: factories and logistics operators that carry a mixed basket of medium-load pallets and want one standardised roll that performs across all of them, rather than stocking several grades. It is a 15 mm × 0.9 mm medium-load PET strap at a rated 5,400 N with 9%–13% elongation. The requirement I designed to is balanced toughness — enough tensile and abrasion resistance to hold real industrial loads, without the brittleness that makes a heavier strap crack in the machine or fight a hand tool. This is the mainstream standardised roll in our range for daily factory production and multi-scenario logistics packaging.

Design decisionsThree engineering choices define this grade, and each one answers a failure the field has already taught us:
Decision 1 — 0.9 mm balanced thickness. A thinner strap stretches and splits under sustained medium loads; a thicker strap hardens and cracks at the bend radius. The optimised 0.9 mm body is the point where bending without cracking and load-bearing capacity meet — it flexes at the corner and still resists deformation across repeated stacking and transshipment.
Decision 2 — 15 mm standard width. Width governs stress distribution. At 15 mm the force is spread uniformly across the pallet edge, which reduces edge cutting on hard-loaded goods and keeps the band flat under tension instead of rolling or twisting.
Decision 3 — integrated moulding for uniform tension. The band is produced with optimised integrated moulding, so mechanical properties and tension are consistent along its length. In practice that means your machine setting does not drift mid-coil, and the weld behaves predictably run after run.

Our plant. The 1509 is extruded and drawn on our own lines, so the 0.9 mm section and 5,400 N rating are controlled at source, not purchased on the market.
Production and quality team. Extrusion, drawing, inspection and packing are in-house — the reason specification and supply stay consistent order to order.

Tensile testing station. Every batch is pulled to confirm the 5,400 N strength and the weld — the joint is the usual failure point on a system, so it is tested on release.
