I am the engineer who specifies this grade, and the 1509 is our standard medium-load PET strapping belt — the everyday production strap I put forward for regular factory output, warehouse turnover and general logistics packing. It measures 15 mm × 0.9 mm and is rated at 5,400 N with 9%–13% elongation, supplied at about 1,140 m per coil. It is the grade that handles brick stacks, building-material bundles, palletised cartons and industrial finished goods without the cost of a heavy spec and without the fragility of a light one. The engineering intent is a balanced medium section: strong enough for regular medium loads, flexible enough to feed cleanly and not crack in operation, and clean-edged for safe manual handling.
The 1509 coil. A standard 15 mm × 0.9 mm medium-load section rated at 5,400 N — the everyday grade for brick and building-material packs.
Grade PositioningHere is where the 1509 sits against our light and heavy grades, so the choice is explicit:
| Tier | Model | Width / thickness | Break strength | Load segment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light | 1208 / 1308 | 12–13 mm / 0.8 mm | ~2,900–4,200 N | Cartons, light finished goods |
| Standard medium | 1509 (this product) | 15 mm / 0.9 mm | 5,400 N | Regular factory, warehouse, general logistics |
| Heavy | 1910 | 19 mm / 1.0 mm | 7,600 N | Dense and heavy cargo |
If your load is a regular medium one — brick stacks, building-material bundles, palletised cartons — a light strap is marginal and a heavy strap is over-costed. The 1509 is the targeted middle.
Performance CharacteristicsWhy a balanced medium section rather than the thinnest working strap: on regular medium loads the two failure modes are a stress crack at the seal or feed channel on an over-thin band, and poor pallet fit with an over-thick one. The 1509 uses an optimised medium thickness that keeps the load capacity needed for brick and building-material packs while retaining the bendability that stops the band cracking as it runs through the head or around a small radius. The result is a strap that feeds consistently and holds its binding force without being either marginal or over-built — which is exactly why it is the standard production grade.
On our production floor. The medium 0.9 mm section runs on the same lines as our other grades, so width and tensile stay inside specification.
Anti-Loosening, ExplainedLoosening is the failure you rarely see on the loading dock but always feel later. Under a steady load the band stretches slowly — creep — and a strap that creeps a little too much lets the pack go slack, so the load settles and shifts in transit even though nothing visibly broke. The 1509 keeps that creep low for a medium grade: the 0.9 mm section carries the load comfortably below its limit, and the integral forming gives the band a uniform orientation along its length, so there is no thin spot that relaxes first. In plain terms, a brick pack or a medium pallet that was tight when it left the dock stays tight on arrival — the tension you set is the tension that reaches the customer.

Buyers sometimes ask why the 1509 sits at 0.9 mm rather than thicker or thinner, so here is the reasoning. Thickness on a PET strap is where both load capacity and tension retention come from. At 0.9 mm on a 15 mm width this grade reaches 5,400 N — enough for regular medium loads — while staying thin enough to bend cleanly around a tight pack and feed smoothly through semi-automatic and manual tools. Push it thinner and the band turns fragile at the seal and in the feed channel; push it thicker and it starts to fight the bend radius and cost more than the job needs. We draw to a nominal 0.9 mm and check it with a calibrated calliper at several points along each coil, because a strap that quietly arrives thin would quietly lose strength. In one line: 0.9 mm is the balanced medium point — strong enough for the job, flexible enough to run.
CompatibilityTensile testing. I confirm the 5,400 N rating, the 9%–13% elongation window and the weld on every release — the seal is the usual system failure point.
ApplicationsSpecified for carton stacks, pallets, industrial finished products, building-material bundles and general cargo — the standard medium-load group in factories, warehouses and distribution centres. In building materials it is the grade for brick stacks, block and paving packs and similar unitised loads where a light strap is marginal and a heavy spec is over-costed.
Production and quality team. Extrusion, drawing, inspection and packing are in-house — the reason spec and supply stay consistent order to order.
A Brick-Plant CaseTake a case from a brick and block yard I supply. Brick packs are strapped on the palletising line, driven out to the storage yard and later container-loaded for export. The yard had been running a light strap and kept finding slack packs at the far end — the top courses worked loose in transit. We moved them onto the 1509, same 15 mm tooling, no change to the pallet layout. Because the medium section holds its tension and the wider 15 mm face spreads the pressure of the brick edges, the packs rode tight from the line to the container and the loosening stopped. It is a simple lesson that holds across building materials: the right fix is usually not the strongest strap, but one with enough section and retained tension for the actual load.
Quality ControlI have listed the checks; here is how they actually run, so the figures are proven rather than printed. Tensile: a sample from each batch is clamped in the rig and pulled to failure, reading peak load and elongation — it must break above 5,400 N and inside the 9%–13% window, or the batch is held. Dimension: a calibrated calliper checks width and thickness at several points along the coil, and the length is metered as the band winds, so a 15 mm / 0.9 mm / 1,140 m coil is verified rather than assumed. Edge and surface: every coil passes an even-finish, burr-free inspection. Weld: we heat-seal a sample joint and load it to failure to confirm the seal holds at full strength — on a medium pallet the seal is usually the first thing to give. A batch ships only when all four pass, and the record stays with us for traceability.
